Safety is a key part of every heavylift and crane installation project. To further strengthen this foundation, Royal Cargo conducted the PHL and CID Equipment and Safety Training on June 3–4, 2026, at Max’s Restaurant, Sucat.
The two-day program brought together 75 participants from the Projects & Heavylift (PHL) and Crane & Installation (CID) teams. It covered equipment safety, preventive maintenance, workplace risk awareness, and safe handling practices that are relevant to both ongoing and upcoming project requirements.
The training was conceptualized by Mr. Elmer Francisco U. Sarmiento, Royal Cargo’s Chief Strategy Officer, in collaboration with Mr. Rodrigo De Roma, Sr. Vice President for PHL and CID Division.
The program supports the company’s efforts to strengthen its heavylift and crane installation operations. It also gave participants the opportunity to revisit safety standards, proper equipment handling procedures, and sound operational practices essential to project-based logistics work.
Royal Cargo President Mr. Andrew Kurt Raeuber was also present during the event, showing management’s support for employee development and workplace safety.
As Royal Cargo handles specialized logistics, heavylift, and project cargo work, having skilled and safety-conscious workforce remains important in delivering reliable service to customers and project partners.

The training was designed to enhance participants’ practical knowledge in equipment safety, preventive maintenance, safe handling and operation of heavy equipment, heavylift operations, crane installation practices, and workplace risk management.
The sessions also helped participants review procedures that support careful planning, proper coordination, equipment readiness, and compliance with safety standards. For teams working on project transportation, safety goes beyond compliance. It affects how projects are planned, how teams work together, and how on-site services are delivered.
In his message to the participants, Mr. Sarmiento shared that the program is only the beginning of a sustained effort to build capability across the organization. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning and knowledge sharing to ensure that technical expertise and safety best practices are passed on to current employees and future team members.

The training was conducted in partnership with the World Safety Organization Philippines, with Eng’r. Jojo Desiderio serving as resource speaker and safety consultant.
His sessions covered Occupational Safety and Health, workplace safety best practices, risk assessment, risk management, regulatory compliance, and safety governance. Participants also gained practical insights they can apply in daily operations, especially in work environments involving heavy equipment, lifting, and project-based logistics.
