IRIS Lines, the shipping division of the Royal Cargo Group, is taking a leap forward into the future by introducing smart container services in partnership with Loginno, a global leader in smart container technology. This groundbreaking pilot project marks the first time such technology is applied to domestic container shipping in the country, positioning IRIS Lines at the forefront of maritime innovation.
The implementation of smart containers is set to revolutionize shipping management in the Philippines. By leveraging advanced technology, IRIS Lines is streamlining operations, reducing delays, and enhancing service quality. This offers clients unparalleled visibility and peace of mind, ensuring their shipments are meticulously monitored and managed with precision, reliability, and security.

The pilot project is part of Loginno’s industry-wide “The Contopia Factor 3” (TCF3) initiative, which aims to revolutionize the global shipping industry by creating a smart container data infrastructure in two phases. Phase one focuses on providing visibility to shipping companies and their customers. Phase two envisions a broader application—integrating with governmental systems, port operations, cargo insurance, and customs, among others.

This initiative results from a collaborative effort involving the Israeli Trade Office in the Philippines and the Department of Transportation (DOTr). The project showcases a shared commitment to advancing the logistics and transportation sectors through technological integration.
On August 8, IRIS Lines launched its groundbreaking smart container project with one of its top customers, sending two 40-foot-laden dry containers from Manila aboard the vessel MV IRIS Paoay V.418S, bound for Cagayan de Oro. This pioneering move has the potential to redefine the shipping industry, setting a new standard of efficiency, reliability, and innovation in maritime transport. It also signals a new era that can create a ripple effect across the region.
