Both facilities successfully passed the criteria on operational standards including physical structure, equipment and facilities, sanitary facilities, and quality safety and assurance program, resulting to a remarkable grade exceeding the standard passing rate of 61%. The BFAR accreditation guarantees clients that a cold storage facility is clean and safe to accept, preserve, handle and store marine products in compliance to the Bureau’s standards. Royal Cargo ensures safe storage and handling of all kinds of fish, shellfish, aquaculture and other aquatic products on all of its cold storage facilities. Products ranging from frozen, fresh, tinned, smoked, salted, dried or brined sea and fresh water products are also accepted.
In December 2019, Royal Cargo secured its very first BFAR accreditation for its North Hub cold storage facility in Plaridel, Bulacan. With the additional accreditations for the Laguna and Dasmarinas facilities, it is important to note that all Royal Cargo cold storage facilities are now compliant and accredited by BFAR.
All facilities are also accredited and licensed by the DA- National Meat Inspection Service, Goods Operating Practice (GOP), Hazard, Analysis, Critical, Control, Point (HACCP), DA- Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), and Food and Drug (FDA)-issued License to Operate as Manufacturer and Repacker.
This interesting development is part of the company’s program to diversify its cold storage services and its vision of providing excellent logistics solutions for its clientele.
